Lewisham Irish Community Center

We celebrated our 30th anniversary earlier this month with an evening of music and song. We were joined by 120+ old friends and new from across London.

We had music from Fiona and Jean Kelly, some singers from our pensioner’s project and a local ceili band.

We launched our Lewisham Irish Life Stories project on the evening too, a book capturing the stories of immigration from across the community with some readings on the evening. Thanks to Denis, Anne and Conor who shared their story. You can fund out more about the project and purchase a copy here.

We want to thank the London Irish LGBT Network who gifted the center a commissioned painting by local artist Yvonne Devine to mark the milestone.

Thanks to our local MP Jandet Daby for their good wishes online and and Rushey Green Councilor James Walsh who joined us on the night.

We were delighted to see so many of you showing out making it a really enjoyable and memorable event.

Here’s to the next 30!
