The Lewisham Irish Community Centre is delighted to be hosting a special one-off event on Saturday 13th
November at 4pm – an open read through of Yes So I Said Yes by award-winning playwright David Ireland, with full cast including Daragh O’Malley, Owen O’Neill, Kevin Trainor, Laura Dos Santos, Kevin Murphy and Declan Rodgers. All are welcome and it’s free to attend.

Yes So I Said Yes will be opening at the Finborough Theatre for a four-week limited season on Tuesday, 23
November 2021. Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the partition of Ireland and the foundation of Northern Ireland, Yes So I Said Yes is a blackly comic, ferocious, dystopian satire about what it’s like to feel alone in a place where everyone else is conspiring to erase you and your history.

David Ireland is the award-winning writer of Cyprus Avenue, which sold out at the Royal Court in 2017 and was streamed via the Royal Court’s YouTube channel in 2019 to over 100,000 people. It features Daragh O’Malley in the lead role of Alan “Snuffy” Black. Daragh is best known for playing Regimental Sergeant Major Patrick Harper in Sharpe, ITV’s long-running Napoleonic drama series.
