Lewisham Irish Community Centre would like to thank all our volunteers who support with the provision of services and activities throughout the year. Our volunteer team support to run LICC weekly playgroup, youth club, older adults program, garden project, and community Breakfast project.
This year we want to highlight all those volunteers who have supported our Bia Project delivering meals and food parcels to our older Irish and local community during the COVID 19 Pandemic.
The team of 21 people which include Wheels of Wellbeing, Catford Fridge, the Good Hope Cafe, Lewisham Irish Community Centre and volunteer Chef Andrea Zick prepare and deliver food to 80 individuals.
Food is just part of the service, our volunteers look forward to meeting members of our community each week and those in receipt of our support look forward to Wednesdays, delicious food served with care, and the all-important time to chat and catch up each week.
Kathleen Sheridan speaking about the LICC Bia Project
Thanks so much to Karen, Andrea, Lana, Rebecca, Francesca, Margaret, Doreen & Roger, Eamon & Jane, Bill, Matt & Sarah, Louise, Peter, Heidi, Jane, Emma, Debbie, Fiona and Colum for giving your time to support your local community.
The response from the local community has been overwhelming, we continue to recruit new people and thanks all those who have been in touch to offer support, to make referrals and those who have contributed to our online COVID appeal. At this very difficult time I would like to thank our volunteer Trustee Board led by James Farrell who are committed to ensuring the longterm sustainability of Lewisham Irish Community Centre to ensure we continue to meet the local need for the coming weeks, months, and years ahead in partnership with our funders and the local community.
