Ambassador of Ireland to the UK Martin Fraser and his wife Deirdre hosted friends, volunteers, staff and trustees to mark the 30th year of the Lewisham Irish Community Centre at the Irish Embassy in London.

Kathleen Sheridan, CEO said,

“We were delighted to be invited to the Embassy to help us mark 30 years of the Lewisham Irish Community Centre. It was particularly lovely for us to be able to extend invites to the staff, volunteers, and service users as well as our friends and colleagues past and present.”

Colum Mackey, Chair of Trustees said,

“The services we provide would not be possible without the support of our generous funders who invest in the community including the Irish government. We’re grateful for the strong relationship we have with the Irish Embassy throughout the years. A special thanks, of course, to thanks to Ambassador Fraser, his wife Deidre and all the staff involved for their warm welcome.”

Many of our recent successes are underpinned by our 4 year strategic plan which sets a direction for the centre that will help us take our first steps into the next 30 years with confidence. You can read the plan in full here

We’re looking forward to hosting an evening of music and dance in the centre on Friday 2nd December, to mark the 30th year. More details to follow
